Title: “Investigating the relationships between cell geometry and mitotic spindle size/positioning: an engineer-turned-cell biologist’s approach”

Abstract: “The Gatlin group is interested in addressing the question of how a cell assembles its division machinery. More specifically, we want to understand how mitotic spindles achieve their cell-type specific morphological characteristics in terms of size and shape and how the structure positions itself within the cell. To this end we apply an in vitro experimental approach that combines cell-free extracts, microfluidics, and photolabile hydrogels.”
